Empire front cover: colour palette: The colour palette is chosen based on the main image, there are typically 3 main colours that represent the image. mastheads: The masthead colour is chosen to contrast the main image colour scheme usually, black or white. it is large bold font so that it stands out from all of the colours in the magazine so that is doesn't blend with the background. the main image typically overlaps the masthead which shows that the decision may have been made as they could feel that even if they dont show the full masthead because they fell that even with some of it missing it is fairly recognisable and people would still no what brand it is. main image: Takes up most of the page, The people in the main image most often look directly towards the camera, or look towards the side of it.
