Statement of Intent  L/O - To produce a concise and well structured statement of intent outlining your chosen brief. In my magazine I want to include the representations that sight and sound and empire include in their magazines, my magazine is going to be a mix of mainstream and independent. I’m going to use a similar colour palate in which sight and sound use which is one main colour to represent the main image on the front of the cover, my target audience is 16-25 years old. My magazine name is called popcorn to relate to movies and standout to my target audience. In my magazines the colour scheme will represent the colour of the photos or it will contrast the images.

CASE STUDY 3: SIGHT AND SOUND

Image
Sight And Sound Front Cover: Masthead: They choose a colour which contrasts the rest of the magazine, the colour of the mast head seems to be totally different from the main image and which is not very typical as the colours are chosen based of the main image. they use the colour from the masthead fro some of the extra text such as the cover lines. the main image does not typically over lap the masthead this may because they are a more independent brand so they do not stand out as a big brand and people may not understand what the full word is. main image: the person featuring on the main image on the magazine is usually looking towards the camera giving the audience a direct look into their eyes making them feel connected with the magazine, as an independent brand the decision to for the people to look directly at the camera this is important because it shows the audience that the magazine care and that are friendly towards the people, and they want audience attention, which is impo...

CASE STUDY 1 : EMPIRE

Image
Empire front cover: colour palette: The colour palette is chosen based on the main image, there are typically 3 main colours that represent the image. mastheads: The masthead colour is chosen to contrast the main image colour scheme usually, black or white. it is large bold font so that it stands out from all of the colours in the magazine so that is doesn't blend with the background. the main image typically overlaps the masthead which shows that the decision may have been made as they could feel that even if they dont show the full masthead because they fell that even with some of it missing it is fairly recognisable and people would still no what brand it is. main image: Takes up most of the page, The people in the main image most often look directly towards the camera, or look towards the side of it. The main image is there to advertises a film because the actor on the front cover is representing their film or what they star in. when the actor is staring at the camera it is lik...
